SB 208 (effective May 28, 2024) bans all sanctuary policies at state and local levels, requiring full cooperation with federal immigration authorities. SB 15 (effective August 1, 2025) criminalizes refusal to cooperate with ICE, including advocacy for sanctuary policies.

All private companies and all public employers must use E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility of new hires. Employers who use E-Verify are shielded from civil penalties if an E-Verified employee is later found to be unauthorized.

Act 419 (effective June 20, 2025) requires state agencies, including the Department of Education, to determine and report immigration status of individuals receiving state services. State agencies providing public assistance must report ineligible applicants to ICE.

Lawful immigration status is required for a standard driver's license. Asylum seekers with valid work permits are eligible but cannot obtain REAL ID-compliant licenses. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible.
