Mandatory — Form 23 submitted to Pro-Bono, Inc. (Colegio de Abogados) for hour verification to Supreme Court. Must be submitted annually by December 31.
CLE Credit for Pro Bono
1 credit per 6 hours (max 6 credits per cycle)
CLE Notes
Hours must be submitted annually (even in non-reporting years). No credit without Form 23.
Eligible Case Types
Criminal and civil matters for indigent citizens. Pro-Bono, Inc. coordinates referrals through regional offices across the island.
Additional Notes
Puerto Rico has a mandatory pro bono assignment system. Attorneys are placed in a court appointment pool for indigent cases unless they demonstrate 30 hours through an authorized entity (Pro-Bono, Inc.).
